2018 Volkswagen Atlas Earns 5-Star Safety Rating from the NHTSA

Last month, Volkswagen of America, Inc., proudly reported that the all-new 2018 Volkswagen Atlas seven-passenger SUV had been awarded a 5-star overall safety rating from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration. The NHTSA manages the government's New Car Assessment Program and has been providing vehicle safety administration to consumers since 1978.

The 2018 Atlas SUV joins the Jetta, Passat, Jetta GLI and full Golf family of cars as 2018 Volkswagen models to earn an overall 5-star safety rating.

Volkswagen Jetta Earns 2017 Ideal Vehicle Award

Last month, Volkswagen of America, Inc. proudly announced that the Volkswagen Jetta sedan had received a 2017 Ideal Vehicle Award (IVA) from the automotive research and consulting firm AutoPacific, Inc. This award acknowledges the fact that the Jetta offers owners the experience they anticipated when they originally purchased their car.

The Jetta took home first place in the Compact car category, with the Volkswagen Beetle and Volkswagen Golf taking second and third, respectively, to give Volkswagen a clean sweep of the podium.


Volkswagen Reports August Sales Gain

Volkswagen of America recently announced that the company sold 32,015 vehicles in the United States during the month of August, marking a 9 percent increase compared to August 2016 results. Tear-to-date, there have been 220,344 Volkswagen vehicles sold in the United States -- a year-over-year increase of 6.4 percent.


Meet the All-New 2018 Volkswagen Tiguan

Last month, Volkswagen announced that the second-generation Tiguan has been designed to meet the requirements of the American customer, with the all-new SUV featuring a more spacious and sophisticated interior.

The vehicle is now based on Volkswagen's Modular Transverse Matrix (MQB) architecture and is 10.6 inches longer than the current generation model. Boasting a lower, wider stance, the SUV is already earning design awards in Europe for the way it presents its sharp lines and LED lighting.


Volkswagen Reports June Sales Increase

Earlier this month, Volkswagen of America announced sales of 27,377 vehicles in the United States in June, an increase of 15 percent compared to June 2016's results. To date, 161,238 Volkswagen vehicles were sold in America during 2017, an improvement of 8.2 percent in year-over-year sales.

June is also noteworthy in that it marked the first full month of sales for the Chattanooga, TN-built Atlas SUV, which delivered 2,413 vehicles to United States consumers during the course of the month.


Volkswagen Releases May Sales Results

Recently, Volkswagen of America announced that the company sold 30,014 vehicles in May 2017, a gain of 4.3 percent over May of 2016 sales. Thus far, Volkswagen has sold 133,861 vehicles in the United States, registering a 6.9 percent increase in year-over-year sales.

The strong performance was driven by results for the Volkswagen Golf, Jetta and Beetle families of vehicles.
